AQUESTA BANK ANNOUNCES GROUNDBREAKING

February 23, 2007 – Aquesta Bank has announced plans for an official groundbreaking ceremony for the bank’s spectacular new corporate headquarters building on Jetton Road in Cornelius, NC. The ceremony will be held on March 1, 2007 at 11:00 AM.

The 3-story, 20,000 square foot corporate headquarters, which is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2007, will be a unique structure complete with a blend of blue/green glass and natural stone as well as environmentally friendly features. The bank will obtain a substantial amount of power for the building through solar energy.

Architect Roger Layman of Davidson, N.C. is the architect for the new structure, and the building process is being managed by Mike Stewart of Global Project Advisors in Huntersville. Edifice was contracted to build the headquarters and will break ground in a couple of weeks.

The groundbreaking ceremony will be hosted by Aquesta Bank CEO and President Jim Engel. Participants include Mayor Gary Knox, Lake Norman Chamber President Bill Russell, Chairman of the Aquesta Bank Board, Ginger Griffin, as well as other Board of Directors, shareholders, customers and various members of the Lake Norman community.

“We are excited and eager to break ground on our new building,” says bank President Jim Engel. “We believe our headquarters will provide a strong connection to the Lake Norman area and serve as a focal point for the community.”

The 1.18 acre site for the new headquarters building is located on Jetton Road extension, behind Magnolia Plaza Shopping Center.
