On Tuesday, July 14, local residents, businesses and town officials of Mooresville joined Aquesta Bank in celebrating a ground breaking for the community bank’s new Mooresville branch. A ceremony was held at the site for the new branch off of Exit 33 west of I-77 in front of the Food Lion Shopping Center.
Aquesta CEO & President, Jim Engel welcomed guests and expressed the bank’s excitement in bringing a full-service branch to the Mooresville community. Mooresville Mayor Bill Thunberg, Mooresville-South Iredell Chamber President Karen Shore, Architect Roger Layman and the bank’s new Branch Manager Tami Ehl joined Jim Engel in hosting the ceremonial ground breaking.
Architect Roger Layman designed the new branch to have many of the same features as the Aquesta headquarters building, including blue-green glass, natural stone and environmentally friendly features. The 3045 square foot building will contain 5 offices, conference room, teller station, drive-thru ATM and a 5-person staff. The new branch has already received an Energy Star rating for its energy efficiency.
“This site is an ideal location for many of our customers who already live in the area and will now have a more convenient banking location,” said Jim Engel. “As Mooresville continues to grow we will be better able to service that community’s banking needs.”
The branch will be constructed by builders GL Wilson out of Statesville. It is scheduled for completion in December 2009.
