Aquesta Bank and race car driver Greg Biffle have joined forces to challenge local Lake Norman businesses in a race to benefit the Cornelius Animal Shelter. On Tuesday, March 9 Biffle, an Aquesta Bank board member, will be on site at Aquesta’s headquarters in Cornelius to race local corporate sponsors of the event on a remote control car track at the first Aquesta 500! The race will be held in the parking lot of the community bank’s headquarters at 19510 Jetton Road from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.
Local business sponsors and drivers for the event committed $500 to the cause and will include business leaders such as: Jim Engel (Aquesta Bank), Jack Salzman (Lake Norman Chrysler Jeep), Bob McIntosh (McIntosh Law Firm), David Goodrum (JD Goodrum Contractors), David Pickens (PSI Control), Kenny Habul (Lake Norman Marble & Granite), Dennis Coogle (PostNet), Greg Wesson (Lake Norman Company), Dave Ferguson (The Growth Coach), Mark Adkins (Waterfront Group) and Andy Cooke (Cooke Rentals).
Attendees of the event may also purchase raffle tickets for $5 to race local Town officials at the event including Cornelius Police Chief Bence Hoyle, Town Manager Anthony Roberts, and Commissioner Jim Bensman. All proceeds will benefit the shelter.
“Aquesta Bank is excited to be a part of such a great community effort.” said Aquesta Bank CEO & President Jim Engel. “We are fortunate to have Greg Biffle and many other local businesses who are committed to the cause of saving the animals in our community.”
